She has significant experience of co-curating somatic impact experiential learning experiences via the collaboration of leading organizations, companies and institutions.
Attemla Consulting's areas of activism focus upon workplace & leadership wellness via trauma-informed care, organizational change rooted in transformative justice, dismantling the prison industrial complex, radical self-care, strategic development, racial equity, and social justice.
Almetta has been featured on: NPR, KOMO News and the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office’s Facebook Page. She is also the author of “The Seasons of Alchemy: Transforming Your Life’s Vision Board Into an Action Planner.”
She is a board member for TeamChild a nonprofit civil legal aid organization. TeamChild’s legal advice and representation can help youth get onto an education or employment track, secure stable and safe housing, build support for health and well-being, and reduce more episodes of incarceration and juvenile court involvement.
Honorary Mention: Almetta is a Sports Hall of Fame Inductee. She and her fellow (2002-2003) Illinois Central College Women’s Basketball teammates have been inducted into the 2020 Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame.
She holds a Masters degree in Social Work (Interpersonal Direct Practice/Mental Health) from the University of Washington (at Seattle). Almetta is a visual storyteller, experiential learning facilitator and she LOVES to dance!
